Upside Down - Where Do I Stand?

Seeking justice is a way to seek God’s righteousness. We can also see this as a way of life that seeks the love and peace in all things. Our soul cravings will only be satisfied when we seek to express the fullness of God’s way of life for all those who are marginalized.

Upside Down - Where Can I Find Peace?

To follow Jesus is to seek peace for all. This way of life does not deflect or avoid conflict, but is willing to do the work to make sure that peace is pursued. It steps in with hands down and hearts alert to bring reconciliation to what is at hand. Peacekeepers are the ones that are doing the hard work in work places, families and communities that bring health and strength to the confusion.

Upside Down - Can I See God

To be pure of heart is to have a deep longing for the internal contentment with God. To live pure is to live in a way that doesn’t’ buckle to the external pressures but lives to honour God in all things. The pure of heart lives for the will of God, his plans and his desires for our lives. The internal purity of heart protects us from the distractions of the external.

Upside Down - Should I Retaliate

We all love to get back at someone who has wronged us or who has hurt others. We think about it as we lay awake at night. We dream about what we will say the next time we see that person. But what if there was a new way of living that showed love, compassion and sympathy? Being an agent of mercy is one that does all those things. It’s not being nice or tolerant, those things don’t define the heart of mercy. Mercy is withholding something even if someone deserves it. Or giving something to someone who doesn’t deserve it.

Is God Doing a New Thing?

Since it’s beginning, Vitalpoint Church has always been about creating a safe place for people to explore and grow in their faith. Church, for us, has never been about a building. However, we believe that our new facility will propel us forward in the mission of reaching more people for Jesus, and will create a space for Vitalpoint Church to help people grow into fully devoted followers of Jesus.

Upside Down - Posture of Humility

We all know someone who is power hungry. Someone that wants to be noticed and acknowledged. They can be hard to be around because life is all about them. Jesus way of life is putting others ahead of yourself. Humility in God’s economy is the path to greatness. To be meek is to see the wealth fare of others before our selves. Humility doesn’t seek revenge but allows God to work in others.

Upside Down - Broken Hearted

To mourn or to grieve is a place that we must embrace. Yes, we may feel sad about something, news report of a horrible accident or a shooting. But do we actually mourn or grieve over injustice, pain of others and abuse. God may be calling you to action through your deep mourning and grief. Unborn children, racism and injustice no longer seem to cause us to deep action. Yes, we can post and rant but do we do anything about it.

We are led to believe that a blessed life is one filled with material wealth. Jesus' way of life is not found in the things of this world but through the recognition of our need for him. God’s kingdom is ours when we abandon our notion of life and let His life become ours.

Jesus spoke to His disciples but did so with the crowd listening in. In this teaching Jesus helps paint a picture of what life can be like. To live with dreams of creating a new life as our hearts begin to beat in rhythm with Jesus' heart. We will explore what the blessed life is.
